Capt. Donald Reid, retired USCG merchant marine, and resident in Brazil since 1979 owns the tour operation agency Andetur Brasil Ltda. in Natal. The agency was originally founded as Ande Turismo by Edna Reid in 1987 after completing her university course in São Paulo. The first women with a degree in tourism in Natal, Edna had dreams of creating an incoming receptive agency specializing in cultural tours in the northeast. Joined by her husband in 1992, the couple has invested many years and at least US$ 200,000 developing these type of tours and needs additional capital to expand to meet the market demand.

From 1995 until 2003, the agency maintained their USA office in Monetgut, LA, as Andetur USA LLC, but after losing both their home and office due to flooding from Huricane LILI in 2002, Donald decided to concentrate on the Brazilian office in Natal for actual operations.

The agency is fully licensed by EMBRATUR and is registered as a member of ABAV (Associação Brasileiro da Agencias do Viagem, SENDITUR (Syndicate of Tourism Agencies) , and is the only agency in the northeast registered with IBAMA to practice legal ecotourism.

Capt. Donald Reid - present owner of Andetur Brasil Ltda., and president of the non-profit NGO/ONG ASSOCIAÇÂO ABTC-Brasil, is registered with IBAMA – Ministério do Meio Ambiente – as a Técnico Federal N° 235492 “Uso de Recursos Naturais / utilização do patrimônio natural; Turismo / complexos turísticos e de lazer, inclusive parques temáticos”.
Donald has been working with the Brazilian government for years (since 1982) as a project consultant, and is presently working with the community of Acari, Rio Grande do Norte, to develop a tourism center in Gargalheiras as part of the SEBRAE project Roteiro Seridó . Part of this project is the construction of a guest-ranch (hotel fazenda) on the banks of the lake, supported by two tour boats. The agency will be offering a series of tours in the region Seridó.

Besides the local tours in Rio Grande do Norte, the agency offers discounted airline tickets, both national and international, and a reservations service for accomodations and tours throughout Brazil. Andetur Brazil is also the official reservations service for the Andetur Brazilian Travel Club and the Associação ABTC-BRASIL members.
