Atlantic Palms Secure Private Condominium, Caripibus, Brazil

1. Background to the area

Carapibus is a growing community overlooking the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The nearby fishing village of Jacuma offers many facilities including good restaurants, beach bars, shops, a post office, pharmacies, gas stations, a medical clinic, a waterpark, schools and bus and taxi services.

In 2005, the Brazilian Government approved an initial investment of 19 million Reais (£4.75m) into the tourism infrastructure in Jacuma, which will include redeveloping the main high street, new beach bars, a shopping mall and a complete overhaul of the beachfront.  There are also plans for at least three golf courses in the local area.  This government grant, coupled with an unprecedented level of foreign investment in the last 12 months, makes the area around Caripibus one of the most potent real estate markets globally.

The nearby city of Joao Pessoa (25 minutes drive) is the capital city of the state of Paraiba and the second greenest city in the world.
